After Joseph’s brothers finally came to the place of real humility, Joseph revealed himself to them. His revelation typifies the Lord’s revelation of himself to sinners that come to him for salvation. Before we examine the types, it is interesting to note that Jesus has revealed or will reveal himself seven times in the Bible. Following are the revelations of Jesus Christ:

1. At his First Advent, Is. 53:1;
   
2. At his resurrection, when he appeared to the saints, 1 Cor. 15:1-10;
   
3. As the righteousness of God in the gospel, Rom. 1:17;
   
4. In us at our new birth, Gal. 1:16;
   
5. At the rapture, we he descends to catch us out, 1 Thes. 4:16-17;
   
6. At the rapture of the tribulation saints, Heb. 9:28; and
   
7. At the Second Advent, when he reveals himself in wrath, 2 Thes. 1:8.
   

So far, we have examined 78 direct types of the Lord in Joseph’s life. In addition, we have seen numerous other similarities, like how the Lord brings conviction on a sinner before he gets saved. Now, we continue the list with types that concern the revelation of Jesus.
