Why should I give to Missions?
Because God wants you to.

Giving to Missions is based on God’s Promise in 2 Cor. 9:6. You sow sparingly and you will reap sparingly. That’s a promise. Likewise, you sow bountifully and you will reap bountifully. That’s a promise, as well.

To sow bountifully, you need 5 things:

  1. Willingness –
    1. Willing beyond your power, 2 Cor. 8:3-5
    2. Willing mind, 2 Cor 8:12a
    3. Willing heart, 2 Cor. 9:7

  2. Commitment –
    Commit to do something, 2 Cor. 9:2, they were ready a year ago

  3. Planning –
    1. Based on what you have, 2 Cor. 8:12b
    2. Based on equality, 2 Cor 8:13-15, everybody doing what they can

  4. Faithfulness –
    1. Performance of the commitment, 2 Cor. 8:11
    2. Performance in spite of poverty or affliction, 2 Cor. 8:2

  5. Dependence –
    1. Trust God for your commitment, 2 Cor. 9:8
    2. Trust His grace for your need, 2 Cor. 8:9

When you sow bountifully, 7 things occur:

  1. You prove the sincerity of your love, 2 Cor. 8:8
  2. You increase the fruits of your righteousness, 2 Cor. 9:10
  3. You are enriched and thankful, 2 Cor. 9:11
  4. You meet the needs of the saints, 2 Cor. 9:12
  5. You help to glorify God, 2 Cor. 9:13
  6. You guarantee that "they" will be praying for you, 2 Cor. 9:14
  7. You reap the greatest benefit – God loves you, 2 Cor. 9:7
